Founded in 1970, Animal Protection Society of Durham (APS) is a leader in building lifelong bonds between people and animals – through education, community outreach, and care for animals in need. Managing the Durham County Animal Shelter in 1990, APS of Durham has provided food, shelter, and medical care for more than 5,000 stray, surrendered, and abused animals each year.
