This is a 2-hour online Zoom workshop. SoulCollage® is a joyful gentle, intuitive, creative process that involves creating small collage cards that participants use as a powerful tool for ongoing self-reflection, self-awareness, and community building. Our sessions focus on the two essential elements that are the essence of SoulCollage®: Finding compelling images (cutting out and pasting them) and speaking aloud or journaling from the image point of view (the I Am One Who… process).
The SoulCollage® method helps us discover our unique inner/outer guides and challenges in life. It is a powerful tool for exploring liminal or threshold space, a place of transition, a state of unknowing, and a time of waiting. Standing on the threshold of a door open to uncertainty can be a doorway to personal transformation. Symbolically, doorways are portals into other worlds, invitations to new places, and openings to fresh perspectives. Doors symbolize transition and change, rebirth, and new beginnings. Doors themselves can signify protection – a place of safety and refuge, or a locked door can indicate separation or lack of freedom. Seeing things from a different perspective can help us to make real-life choices and changes.
This workshop will explore the metaphor of thresholds and doorways and how they can lead us to new options and self-discovery. We will create small, collaged cards, journal with them, and learn how to check in with them as trusted guides on our journey. No prior art experience is needed. This online workshop is open to beginners and those with SoulCollage® experience looking to grow their practice. Using intuition and imagination, you create a deck of collaged cards, each reflecting a different aspect of who you are. The cards are made from simple materials: magazine images or photographs, scissors, glue, and a mat board.
This method has helped hundreds who declared themselves non-artists discover their creativity and fuel their imagination. Once a card is created, your images will speak to reveal their gifts and wisdom through journaling, visualization, and other activities. Each SoulCollage® card becomes a portal to your story and your innate knowing. Accessing these deep parts of yourself will help you navigate your daily life and find answers to personal and existential questions. All emerging from within you and reflecting back to you – your strengths, beauty, complexity, dreams, and accomplishments.
This workshop is being held on Zoom. The cost is $30. You must register in advance. Basic cardmaking supplies will be mailed to you if you register at least 10 days in advance. This workshop is perfect for first-timers and experienced card-makers who want dedicated time and space for cardmaking and witnessing.
