Juneteenth Celebration - Downtown Cary Park
Join us at the Park for a soulful Juneteenth Celebration with Historian Darrell Stover. Experience Songs of Freedom through live reenactments, spoken word, and a saxophone summit. A day of unity, culture, and joy honoring resilience, liberation, and the spirit of freedom! See below for the full schedule of the day! All performances will be on the Great Lawn Pavilion.

- 3:30 pm: Procession and Welcome
- Djembe Drummers and USCT Re-enactors with choir
- 4 pm: Pleasant Grove Choir Performance
- 4:45 pm: Poetry Performances
- Dasan Ahanu
- Kim Arrington
- 6 pm: Performance by Mavis Poole and Soul Understated
- 6:45 pm: Performance by Dr. Ajamu Amiri Dillahunt Jr. – Freedom Songs Then and Now
- 8 pm: Saxophone Summit Performances
- Dexter Moses and Friends – Sax players Dr. Ira Wiggins, Brian Miller, Shaena Ryan
Food Trucks will be available at Park St Courts. Stay tuned for the full lineup of trucks!
