Lunar New Year at The Durham

*The event has already taken place on this date: Tue, 02/17/2026
Join us in the Coffee Bar for a Lunar New Year celebration welcoming the Year of the Fire Horse. Hosted in collaboration with Aaron Wan, a UNC-Chapel Hill graduate student, this open-to-all evening brings together tradition, community, and storytelling in our airy mid-century lobby space. Enjoy mahjong tables for learning and play, Chinese calligraphy, red fortune seals, and a curated drink menu at the Coffee Bar inspired by tea and warming spices. In the Chinese Zodiac, the Horse represents movement, freedom, and victory. Paired with the element of Fire, this year carries rare energy, intensity, and momentum. Free to attend. All ages welcome.
