PlantFest 2025

PlantFest, on October 11, 2025, 9 am to 3 pm at Blackwood Farm Park in Chapel Hill, is a big plant sale and garden festival hosted by the NC State Extension Master Gardener volunteers of Orange County. PlantFest will feature a huge plant sale with more than 2,000 plants (lots of natives!). Get there early for the best selection. You're welcome to bring a wagon or cart to hold your plants - there will be a holding area where you can "park" your plants while you pay at the cashier's table or wander the festival. We'll accept cash, check or charge cards for the plant payments. We'll offer gardening exhibits and demonstrations where you can learn about invasive plants, biodiversity, winter sowing, plant problems or other gardening topics. Bring one or two tools for sharpening. Pick up free packets of seeds! There will be lots of fun for kids, including hands-on activities. Our nature-themed art sale will offer lovely items, many of which have been made locally. PlantFest will also include food trucks, music, exhibits from partner organizations, and more!

NOTE: Please enter the park at the south entrance near 1436 New Hope Church Road, east of NC Hwy 86 (watch for PlantFest signs). The main entrance of the park will be used for PlantFest visitors who have disabilities or need special assistance (and for regular visitors to the park).
