Pumpkin Prowl

Spice up pumpkin season this year: Gather your family and friends and visit us Saturday, November 12 (rain date November 19), for Pumpkin Prowl, our favorite way to celebrate fall. Like many humans, our animal residents love all things pumpkin. Join the fun by decorating our locally sourced pumpkins and building enrichment for our residents to enjoy. When you’ve finished your work of art, head into the park to see the animals get their paws on their new toys. We’ll have maps available for you at check-in, so you can easily find the animals you’d like to see. While you see them play, you’ll also learn interesting tidbits about our residents and the species they represent from docents stationed throughout the park. Celebrate autumn in a wild way that's fun for you and the animals! We can't wait to see you there!

- 10:30 am–11:30 am: Create enrichment for our residents! You bring the creativity and we’ll provide the supplies. When you're ready for a break, enjoy food and drinks from local vendors like Bright Penny Brewing, Burrito Bistro NC, and Ramsey Sweets. If the kids need to burn off some extra energy, play autumn-inspired field games or explore our nature trails.
- 11:30 am–3 pm: Inside the park, see the animals explore their stuffed, scented, or painted pumpkins and other enrichment. From leopards and lions to bobcats and binturongs, every resident species gets to be part of the celebration.
