Wake County Tobacco-Free Community Forum 2025 | What’s happening in the Research Triangle

Wake County Tobacco-Free Community Forum 2025

The Poe Center for Health Education, in partnership with Wake County Human Services and Wake County Public Schools, invites the Triangle community to ask: What if… we all had a tobacco-free community at the Tobacco-Free Community Forum.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

1 in 5 high school students currently use a vape product – that’s about 6 in every classroom (North Carolina Youth Risk Behavior Survey, 2023). Youth tobacco use continues to be a health crisis.

The purpose of the Forum is to move the needle and make a healthy difference in the lives of Wake County residents.

Hosted at the Wake County Commons Building, this youth-led forum will feature a review of current trends and a discussion of action steps that youth, parents and community leaders can take to support tobacco-free and nicotine-free environments.

The forum will provide opportunities for youth, parents, and community members to hear about and participate in conversations about strategies that reduce youth tobacco use and to empower communities in the solution. Join us!
