YMCA Babysitting Course
*The event has already taken place on this date: Sun, 08/06/2017
The Kerr Family YMCA is hosting courses to allow youth ages 11 – 15 to be officially certified as babysitters. Each course is split into two parts. Part one of each course will be held on a Saturday from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m., while part two will be held on a Sunday from 1 - 4 p.m.
We use the American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) Child and Babysitting Safety curriculum. Participants will receive a babysitting certification card and will learn basic CPR and First Aid skills. Students will receive information and learn skills necessary to provide responsible care for children in the absence of their parents or guardians. This training will help participants learn skills for providing basic care, safe play, and first aid while developing leadership and professionalism.
All materials needed for the course will be provided on the first day of classes. Feel free to pack a snack and a water bottle if you would like.
